Player questions

Start with what affects play: accounts, rankings, touch support, and temporary build problems.

Can I play games without an account?

Anyone can open an approved live game without creating an account. The Play action opens the creator’s external browser build in a new tab and records only privacy-limited local launch signals. GitHub sign-in is required for account-bound actions such as liking a game, saving it to the liked library, or submitting a listing.

Do likes or game starts decide the rankings?

Likes are the primary public ranking signal. On the popular shelf, lifetime likes set the order; bounded browser starts and returns break ties, followed by release recency. Day and week charts lead with likes from that window. Raw launch-tap totals do not rank games, so a burst of opens cannot outweigh player approval.

What does Touch-friendly mean?

Touch-friendly means the creator confirms that every core gameplay action, including starting the game, works without a keyboard or mouse. The label helps players find likely phone and tablet games, but it is not independent device certification. It does not guarantee support for every browser, orientation, screen size, loading speed, or performance level.

What happens after players report a broken build?

Three distinct browser reports within the current 24-hour window temporarily remove a game’s public Play actions while its approved source page stays visible. This is reversible: reports age out after 24 hours, the creator can clear them after checking the build, and changing the live URL resets reports tied to the previous destination.

Can anyone see a pending submission?

A newly submitted or edited listing stays pending and is not public. It is visible only to its owner, excluded from the public catalog and search indexing, and unavailable as a public game page. A moderator must approve it before source-only listings enter All games or live builds become eligible for Play now and charts.

What do I need to list a game?

To list a game, use a public GitHub repository that the signed-in account can push to. Required listing fields are a title, player-facing description, primary genre, touch-friendly yes or no, and model provenance. A live URL is optional; when supplied, concise controls and a commit-pinned gameplay image from the same repository also become required.

Can I keep my game on itch.io and list it on Vibe Arcade?

Yes. Vibe Arcade does not move, copy, host, or replace an itch.io page. Keep the existing project page and provide the credential-free browser-build URL you want Vibe players to open. The two services cover different jobs: itch.io can host and commercialize a release, while Vibe adds a moderated GitHub-backed listing and player signals. Review each platform’s current terms.

Why does Vibe Arcade ask for model provenance?

Model provenance records which supported model helped generate the game, or Other when needed. It is a required submission field and an optional secondary catalog filter, not the product promise or a quality score. Provenance does not affect ranking: player likes lead, while bounded starts and returns only settle ties. Players should judge the game by its play experience.
